MF Series Valve Actuator

Description:
The MF series of ¼ turn actuators provide a second stage gear reduction for multi turn actuator drivers to meet torques and operating times required by the industry. Applications for buried service or remote drive can also be satisfied by utilizing the input flange feature. The cast iron construction and rugged design of the Mastergear „MF“range of valve actuators has been engineered to meet the arduous requirements demanded of industrial environments.

Through corrosion resistant treatment of bore metal surface and the use of lip seals, the „MF“range is dealer to IP67. All models use high performance axial needle bearings which, combined with a one piece wormshaft, maximizes the available mechanical advantage and overall unit efficiency.

Additional spur gear “IS 3,5”

For „MF” o „ MF – IS“ series valve actuators is designed special spur gear “ IS 3,5”. This spur gear will reduce input torques such, that every requirement regarding input torque and closing time could be meet. Spur gear “IS 3,5” is face gear with ration 3,5 : 1 and efficiency factor cca 3,3.

Spur gear “IS 3,5” is equipped on both ends with F10 mounting flanges according ISO, which allows to mount this gearbox to every type of valve operator with F10 input flange only with screws and nuts. This could be done everywhere, not only in production company.

Worm gearboxes for modulating regime:

Worm gearboxes for modulating regime are produced on the base of M - F or MFseries gearboxes and have the same dimensional and torque parameters including base flanges and shaft drilling dimensions. They could be with electric or hydraulic modulating actuators which are directly connected with base gearbox. Never use additional spur gears! Gearboxes for modulating regime are marked similar like gearboxes of M – F or MF series. Only behind letter in size specification is added letter “ O”. for instance MOF40, MOCF72, MOFF36………….MOLF60. Letter “O” means that quadrant is made from special Sulphuric bronze with long life time and small amortization. Worm of this gearboxes is also from special steel which forced long time sliding friction and by this way long life of all gearbox. Life time of this gearbox is designed to make 5,000.000 starts, that means impulses from actuator. Expression cycle is not used because during one working cycle could be several correction starts like to position open nor to position close. Gearbox corresponds to working regime from S1 to S4. Maximal number of starts during one hour is 1.200.

Gearboxes with raised positron indicator

Gearboxes with dosed positron indicator are use din CASE when valve shaft is Langer then allowed height for selected type of gearbox. Dosed positron indicator could compensate lengths to 45 mm up standard height allowed for selected gearbox. And are use data gearbox series M – F, M, MF, MF-IS.

Dosed positron indicators are from cast iron, steel or plastic depends on lengths and gearbox type.

Gearboxes with switched input shaft about 90°:

M – F, MF, MF-IS series gearboxes could be equipped with additional bevel gear AP1 which could turn direction of input shaft about 90° from level of wormshaft. These combinations are used for buried service or for operating valve in not standard height.
