MASTERGEAR BEVEL GEARBOXES are used to operate gate valves and penstock valves for both designs with or without rising stem. They are designed to accept the full thrust forces which occur during the opening and closing action.

MASTERGEAR BEVEL GEARBOXES have the following special features:


Motor-driven gearboxes use ball bearings (Fig.2)

hand operated gearboxes use plain bearings (Fig.3).

Gearbox Types:

MASTERGEAR manufactures the following standard types of BEVEL GEARS:

Special Designs:

Type ASD/ARD or ASDM/ARDM are equipped with two input shafts whereby one shaft may be used for power from a handwheel or actuator and the second shaft for transferring power to another gearbox.

Type AST/ART or ASTM/ARTM are provided with three input shafts. This permits a further power input onto a third gearbox.

Accessories:

All bevel gear from size AS/AR24 can be supplied with planetary reduction gear units or double reduction gear units.

Application Examples:

Valve with bevel gearbox for hand operation
Valve with bevel gearbox and turnaround gear, extended shaft and hand operation
Valve with bevel gearbox and planetary reduction gear unit for hand operation
Valve with bevel gearbox and actuator
Valve with bevel gearbox and 90° turnaround gear for hand operation
During maintenance work the lower part of the gearbox incl. the stem nut (form A) remain on the valve, e.g. to locate the spindle or to enable manual operation with a handwheel

Deepness of races on opposite flange must be done with tolerance +0,2 +0,4mm. It is necessary to control the diameter of opposite flange is not higher than is specified in this tables. Differences could damaged gearboxes.
